Long gone are the days where you need to be in a particular place walking the streets, or receiving an exclusive VIP invite, to be exposed to inspiring style, art and ideas.

A big win thanks to this digital world we live in is we all have access to style-makers, creators and fashionistas from across the globe. Creative communities are growing.

Here are some of my personal favourites to follow that offer positive, unique and genuine style statements that inspire my own home, fashion and design approach with Piece By Piece Home.

Pernille Rosenkilde

Texture, colour combinations and shape are strong characteristics of Pernille's style. She is playful, but considered. I also personally admire how she is sharing her family life in Copenhagen, including her two young children, fashion events, renovating - she is keeping it real and all rolled into one! Pernille showcases the juggle with true style.

She also created a city guide for Copenhagen for Anthropologie in case you are planning a trip soon :)

Louise Olsen

Dinosaur Designs Co-Founder and Designer and Artist, Louise is a trailblazer. Her composition is flawless and she seems to nail the delicate balance of bold and sensitive effortlessly. Watching the Dinosaur Designs brand and Louise's art continue to evolve is inspirational.

Denise Boomkins

Aging and body positivity, art and unapologetic style. Denise is real and clever and her style is accessible too. She is elegant and authentic, and her outfit combinations are always spot on. 

The late Iris Apfel

Business woman, fashion and interiors designer Iris was known for her flamboyant and fun style. She was a collector of many things during her 102 years, including jewellery, always embracing a more is more approach. It didn't matter if the necklace was found for $2 at a flea market in Harlem or for thousands at a New York high-end boutique - she loved style for style, not the price tag or perceived brand status.

Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales

Romance Was Born duo who met when studying fashion in 2005. Anna and Luke are entwined in the art and fashion worlds, and also champion sustainability and inclusivity. They aren't afraid to try new things, collaborate and have created countless iconic, collectible collections. A bigger label also creating one-off, forever pieces...that deserves respect and applause. I bought a piece at a sample sale about 8 years ago - I'm still in love.

Yvette Coopersmith

Yvette's portraits, particularly her self-portraits, are just plain brilliant. It's the distinct technique by this acclaimed artist, but also the fashion captured in the portraits that inspire me. I'm always excited to see what works she will release next. Her visual language certainly speaks to me.
